Union minister Rajnath Singh in January launched an online portal for the purchase of items against firm demands (AFD) from CSD canteens. The portal was launched to enable 45 Lakh CSD beneficiaries including serving and retired army personal from armed forces and serving defense employees to purchase AFD-1 items such as cars, washing machines, TV and refrigerator and other items. The items can be purchased from the comfort of home. According to the government the project CSD AFD online portal was in the line with the vision of Digital India, enunciated by Prime Minister Modi.

| AFD CSD online Portal i.e. afd.csdindia.gov.in is a project launched by the government of India. Portal was launched for the sale of AFD items. This portal will enable army personnel to buy CSD canteen items by simply visiting the portal. Officers just need to place their order online and it will be delivered to their homes. How to Register for CSD AFD Online Portal at afd.csdindia.gov.in
To order any items from CSD online canteen you need to make registration on the portal.
- To register yourself, first of all, visit the official website afd.csdindia.gov.in. Registration Link
- Here on the home page, you’ll see the option of ‘shop now.’ Click on it.
- Click on it you’ll be redirected to the login page, where you’ll see ‘click here for new registration.’
- After clicking on the link you will be taken to the registration page.
- On CSF AFD online registration page you have to fill in details such as name, mobile number, chip number, and employment status, etc.
- Fill in all the necessary information and double-cross the details then click on submit button.
- You have successfully completed your registration.
- Now save your login Id and password.
