The scheme will help poor peoples who can’t bear the expenditure of their daughter’s marriage and borrow a huge some on interest. State Govt has released fund of Rs. 1,500 crore for the scheme which will help 6 lakh girls belonging to economically weaker sections. The scheme is in effect from 1 April 2018 and is applicable in all districts of West Bengal. Any girl who proposes to get married and avail benefits of the scheme must meet the following criteria:-

  • The applicants must have crossed the age of 18.
  • The girl must be unmarried till the date of applying for the scheme.
  • The proposed marriage is her first marriage.
  • The girl must have born in West Bengal or she has been living in the state for the last 5 years or her parents are permanent citizens of West Bengal.
  • The income of the beneficiary from all sources must not be more than 1.5 lakh annually.
  • Girl’s proposed groom has attained the age of 21years.
  • The applicant has an active bank account and the girl is the sole account holder.

Documents Required for WB Rupashree Prakalpa
The applicant must have valid proof of age for which she must have the self-attested photocopy of any of the following:-

-Birth certificate

-Pan card

-Voter ID

-Adhaar card

-School leaving certificate recognized by the government

  • Applicant should provide non-married status i.e. self-declaration that she hasn’t married before.
  • A self-declared income certificate must be provided at the time of form submission
  • Residents’ prof such as Adhaar card, Pan Card, Ration card, and voter ID card must be provided.
  • Bank account details of beneficiary should be provided in the form of a self-attested photocopy of the front page of the bank passbook where account holders name, IFSC code, account number, bank address account and MICR number should be visible.
  • Proof of groom’s age is required for which photocopy of birth certificate, Adhaar card, voter ID card, pan card, Madhyamik admit card can be submitted.
  • A colored passport size photograph must be provided of the girl and her groom.
