Due to the corona pandemic’s second wave lockdown is being imposed in Andhra Pradesh. Following which all the educational institutes are closed for physical activities and classes are being commenced online. However, a huge number of students of the state don’t have access to laptop internet and other devices necessary for online education. To help these students the state government of Andhra Pradesh has announced the scheme Jagananna Vasathi Deevena Laptop Scheme. Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy announced this scheme on 19 April 2021. Under the scheme, a laptop and free internet will be provided to the eligible students, and that beneficiary who doesn’t want to get a laptop can also get an amount of Rs 20,000 in lieu of a device. Also, students who are not eligible for the scheme can buy the laptop from the state government at their own expense.

Latest Update- Under the Amma Vodi & Vasati Deevena scheme, the cabinet agreed to give laptops to students in classes 9 to 12 instead of cash incentives. In the Amma Vodi Scheme laptop will be distributed instead of cash to 1,10,779 students in the Vasati Deevena Scheme and 8,21,655 students in classes 9 to 12. About JNTUK JVD Laptop to Students Jagananna Vasathi Deevena Scheme
Students of the polytechnic, B.Tech, ITI Degree and Ph.D. students require a laptop to continue their studies. These students can avail the benefits of the JNTUK JVD Laptop to Students Jagananna Vasathi Deevena Scheme. People who are eligible for the scheme need to apply online for the scheme. The last date of applying for the scheme is 24 April 2021. There are some other ways to receive a laptop or amount instead of the device which are explained in this article.

  • Eligible students can get a free laptops and free internet access from their respective institutions.
  • Students not interested in free laptops can also get reimbursement of rupees 20,000 under the state scheme.
  • Students who are not eligible for the scheme can purchase the laptop from the state government.

All the management bodies of institutions affiliated with JNTU Kakinada will have to send the JVD letter to the applicant and their parents in order to get acceptance from students and their guardians as to which option of the above they have chosen. All the students and their parents have to submit their concerned application by 24 of April 2021.

Eligibility Criteria Of JNTU JVD Laptop Scheme to Students
  • Institutes of all the students applying for the scheme must be affiliated with JNTU Kakinada.
  • Students whose parents are government employees will not be eligible for the scheme.
  • If anyone in the applicant’s family is availing benefits of any government pension scheme, the candidate will be ineligible for the scheme.
  • Sanctuary workers are exempted from the scheme.
  • Students studying polytechnic, B.Tech, ITI Degree, and Ph.D. students or studying any other graduation program are eligible for the scheme.
  • Students must be enrolled in government or government-aided institutes or the private institutes must be affiliated with the state board.
  • The family income of the applicant must be less than 2.5 lakh per year.
  • The beneficiary should not own wetland of more than 10 acres/ agricultural land below 25 acres or wetland and agricultural less than 25 acres.
  • Applicant should not own any four-wheelers such as car, taxi, etc.
